Architectural powder coating projects, part 2: Checks ‘n’ balances—engineering finishes that last
This article is the second in a series of articles targeting architectural powder coating of significant projects. Part 1 “Supply chain management, the players and their roles and responsibilities” was published in October 2009, and part 3 “Contract metal finishing--say what you do, do what you say, and be prepared to prove it!” will be published in March.
For architectural finishing applications, there exists a high expectation for quality at every level in the supply chain. The language in reference to the definition of acceptable quality ranges from the simplest statements of general acceptance to the most detailed requirements as listed by specifications, standards, and testing performance in accordance with guidelines as mandated by the design team.
